when luke met jack
Because of the timing of Jack’s birth, Luke didn’t get to meet Jack until the morning after he was born. It was a bit tough for me not to see Luke that night since it was the first night I’d ever spent away from him. (I know, I know, I should have done it sooner.) It just made me all the more excited to see Luke the next morning.Whitney from Tiara & Tails photography came back to the hospital the following morning to capture Luke and Jack meeting for the first time, and to capture some fresh newborn shots of our newest little bundle.
If you know Luke in real life, you know that he is a very sweet and affectionate little boy. He loves to give hugs and kisses, holds people hands and cuddles into his loved ones on a regular basis, just because the mood strikes him. All of these traits had me hopeful that he would do well with a little brother.
It turns out I was right. When Luke met Jack, my mama heart just about exploded with love.
Brothers: [noun, plural]
1. Male siblings
2. Playmates and partners in crime
3. People who will always stand up for one another
4. Loyal friends forever
Luke always has a train or a truck of some kind in his hand. And that sweet boy of mine just wanted to shared it with his new brother. It was hard not to cry the entire time my two boys were in the same room as me (postpartum hormones hit me hard!).
It was a lot of excitement for Luke to meet his new brother and my sweet boy reminded me that he will always be my baby by falling asleep in my arms.
I’ll never forget how special it was when Luke first met Jack. That boy of mine has a heart of gold and I am so lucky to be his mama.
Since we’ve had a bit of a photo overload already with this post, I’ll share the photos of just Jack, Curtis & I and the ones of just Jack separately.
