Every spring, the Canadian Tulip Festival is held in Ottawa and it’s just gorgeous. I’m not usually a fan of hanging around downtown, but these tulips are worth the trip. Since the spring weather decided to make a re-appearance today, I brought baby boy down to Dow’s Lake to see the tulips for the first time. (Fair warning, I got a bit photo happy… but let’s be honest; when do I not get photo happy?)
Luke was too cute checking out the flowers from the stroller.
I just can’t get over how beautiful the tulip beds are. And can you believe this is downtown?
The red and white tulip above is the Canada 150 tulip, which was recently unveiled to celebrate Canada’s upcoming 150th birthday. The red and white colours are meant to resemble our flag, which is pretty cool, but also makes for a striking flower.
My attempt to get a shot of Luke with all the tulips was not exactly successful so I guess we’ll just have to go back!
