Exactly three years ago today it was a rainy and cool September day in Perth. I sat in the spa looking out over Stewart Park as the rain fell while I got my makeup done for my wedding. Our ceremony was supposed to take place in the park under the trees at 4PM. It was not looking like that was going to happen.
The rain didn’t let up and we ended up having to move our ceremony indoors. We got married in a room full of windows in front of a fire, instead of outside under the trees. It wasn’t what we had planned, but it turned out to be perfect. I cried happy tears (honestly, so much crying), the bridal party looked fabulous and we were surrounded by more love than I could have hoped for. After the ceremony, the clouds parted and the sun came out (although it was still pretty chilly), and I was so thrilled that we got to do our portraits in the park. We had dinner, our friends and family made us laugh and cry with their toasts, we cut the cake, ate way too many cupcakes and then danced the night away.
It’s hard to believe it’s been three years; it feels like we just got married yesterday, but at the same time it feels like you’ve been my partner forever. I know for sure you were the best decision I ever made. Three years and two baby boys later, and somehow I love you even more than I did on our wedding day.
Happy anniversary, Curtis! Here’s to the next 60!
