the taylors do toronto
This past weekend we went to Toronto to visit Anjelica and Sean and to celebrate Terri’s baby shower.
Since Curtis isn’t working on Fridays right now, we left Friday around lunch time so we could skip as much traffic as possible. This was Luke’s first big road trip and he was pretty excited about it.
Lucky for us, Luke is probably the happiest and most laid back baby I’ve ever known and he did great on the drive. We only had to stop once each way!
We got to Toronto before Anjelica was home from work, and Curtis was dying to go to BassPro so we drove out this Vaughan Mills to look around. This marks Luke’s first official visit to BassPro! Curtis was so proud and excited, and I won’t pretend it wasn’t adorable to watch Curtis carry Luke around the store and excitedly point things out to him.
Once Anjelica let us know she was on her way home from work we headed over to her apartment building. We fed Luke his dinner, put him to bed, then had a BBQ out on the patio/garden area. We were of course joined by their little dog, Leo.
Part of the reason we headed out to Toronto was for Anjelica’s cousin/my friend Terri’s baby shower which was hosted by Anjelica in her building on Saturday afternoon. They have this awesome room for hosting events and after our pancake breakfast in the apartment, we started to set up for the baby shower.
Isn’t this headband making station adorable?! What a cute idea to make a custom little gift for the new baby girl.
Luke’s favourite part of the whole shower was the balloons.
After the shower, Anjelica and I took Luke and Leo for a walk around her neighbourhood. It was boiling out and little Leo ended up in the stroller basket under the seat.
We stopped at a couple stores then went back to the apartment to feed Luke dinner and put him to bed. Afterward, Anjelica and I had dinner at a The Granite while Curtis and Sean had a night in at the apartment with Luke. They ordered Popeyes and had LandShark to chase it down. I think it’s safe to say they had a good night.
Sunday morning we hung around the apartment and starting packing up th car. Once Luke woke up from his morning nap we headed to the Yorkdale Mall where I wanted to buy everything. The BabyGap stores there actually have boy clothes! And Pottery Barn. I’ll take one of everything, please.
Around 1 o’clock we called it a day, piled into the car and started the drive home. We made one stop in Trenton for gas and then it was smooth sailing all the way to Ottawa. We got home before 6, Luke was asleep by 7, and overall it was a very successful first road trip!
Thanks so much to Anjelica and Sean for being the most gracious hosts and allowing us to take over their apartment and entire schedule this weekend. We had a great time and I can’t wait to go back.
