log cabin orchard

Yesterday we had a mom & baby play date and what better fall activity to do than to take them to the apple orchard? Shannon, Celia, Steph & I packed up the babies and headed out to Log Cabin Orchard in Osgoode, which is about 20 minutes from home. It’s a family-run orchard and I love it for exactly that reason. It’s a beautiful location, nice and quiet (it was a Monday after all), and free admission – pay only for the apples you pick and treats you want to bring home. They even have a little petting zoo with goats, pigs, bunnies, chickens, roosters and a donkey.

Since Luke loves animals, the little zoo was right up his alley. We made a quick visit to the animals before we were off to pick some McIntosh and Cortland apples. And to take about a million pictures of the babies. I mean, who can resist a baby at an apple orchard? There was even a big, old tractor right by the trees. It was awesome.

After we got our fill of photos (aka the babies were over it and getting fussy), we finished picking our apples, bought some homemade apple cider and piled into the truck to make it back for nap time.
