There’s just something special about the changing of the seasons. Something almost magical. As the weather cools down, the trees change colours, and the days shorten, I find myself looking forward to the change. I’m looking forward to all things cozy, fires and baked goods, knit sweaters and boots, the windows thrown open to let in the fresh, crisp air. The change breathes new life into my soul.
When I was younger, summer was easily my favourite. No school, living up at the lake with endless days of swimming, picnics and campfires. I lived for the long hot days and endless sun. But as I got older, things started to shift and I began to crave shorter, cooler days.
There’s so much to look forward to with the return of fall, and now that I’m home with Luke I enjoy it even more. Fall seems to bring families closer together and makes everything more romantic. Plus, there are so many fun things to do this season. We’ve already been on some cool morning walks and gone apple picking (twice!). I already can’t wait for all things pumpkin, roast dinners and hot chocolate. It’s going to be a great fall, I can just feel it.
