christmas tree farm

Yesterday was a gorgeous sunny day and it actually wasn’t too cold, so we decided to visit Thomas Christmas Tree Farm. It’s located just south of Ottawa, not too far from home and it’s a gorgeous 50 acre property. It’s actually the tree farm my family and I used to go to every year when I was a kid, so it was pretty special to bring Luke there. I had big dreams of bringing him to the Christmas tree farm last year, but he was only 4 months old and I just wasn’t up for babywearing in the cold.

While you’re there you can walk through their maple bush, explore the rows of Christmas trees, and go for a ride on the tractor-drawn wagon. They always have a bonfire going where they serve hot chocolate and cookies, too. It’s the perfect spot to sit and warm up after picking your perfect tree.

Luke loves his sled so it was a sure bet that he would have a good time. As expected, he loved it all; sledding, crawling and trying to walk through the snow. I plunked him in front of some trees to take some pictures and he ended up standing up on his sled all proud of himself. And then he face-planted right into the snow. It was hilarious. I’m happy to report he ditdn’t even cry. Which is good since I just keep taking pictures. Poor boy. The highlight of the trip for him was probably the tractor. This kid loves seriously anything with wheels. I already can’t wait to take him back next year.
