16 week bumpdate
FOUR MONTHS! Honestly, I can’t believe how quickly this pregnancy is flying by. I both love it and hate it. I’m so excited to meet this new little family member of ours and to find out if we’re having a little boy or girl, but I also absolutely love being pregnant. I love this special time where it’s just me and the baby, and he or she is all mine, when I’m the only thing they know and I always know they are safe.
How far along? 16 weeks
Baby is now the size of: An avocado
Gender: We’ll be finding out in just a couple more weeks!
Maternity clothes? Oh yes! (You can read my tips for maternity clothes shopping here)
Movement: Yes! I felt the first “real” kicks on November 1st! While enjoying some McDonald’s of course.
Food cravings: Mostly still carbs and salt, with the occasional Ice Capp and apple fritter.
Food aversions: None! Oh, how I love the second trimester.
Favorite meal this week: Curtis made pork tenderloin with roast potatoes and broccoli and I ate an embarrassing amount. It was so good. (P.S. How lucky am I to have a husband who not only cooks, but actually enjoys it and is a fanastic cook to boot?)
Emotional moment this week: There were two particularly special ones! The first was feeling those first baby kicks that I’m now looking forward to being able to share with Curtis and Luke in the next few weeks. The second was hearing the baby’s heartbeat (a strong 160 beats/minute) at the doctor’s office on Thursday. There’s no better sound when you’re pregnant than a nice and strong little heartbeat.
Best moment this week: In addition to the two emotional moments above, one of the best moment was having our family Christmas photos taken! I am so excited to get them back and can’t wait to share them.
Labour signs? Nope!
Belly button in or out? In.
Wedding rings off or on? On.
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender and planning a reveal!
